Galvanized Mesh Sheet Manufacturing Options
The production method has an important influence on the surface condition and corrosion protection of the finished Galvanized Mesh Sheet. Two common manufacturing methods are available.
Welded Then Galvanized Galvanized Mesh Sheet
For this type of Galvanized Mesh Sheet, quality iron wire is first processed through automated welding machinery to form the required mesh structure. The completed mesh is then galvanized to create a protective zinc coating over the steel surface.
This production method provides a firm welded structure while allowing the finished mesh to receive a continuous galvanized treatment. It is suitable for applications where both structural stability and corrosion protection are required.
Pre-Galvanized Wire Mesh Sheet
Pre-galvanized Galvanized Mesh Sheet is manufactured using quality galvanized iron wire. The galvanized wires are welded together to form the required mesh pattern and dimensions.
Because the wire has already received a zinc coating before welding, this production method is convenient for manufacturing different mesh configurations and is commonly used for general fencing, agricultural enclosures, cages, and other applications.
Galvanized Mesh Sheet by Zinc Coating Process
Different galvanizing processes can be selected according to the required corrosion resistance, application environment, and project budget.
Electro Galvanized Mesh Sheet
Electro Galvanized Mesh Sheet is produced through an electroplating process after the welded mesh has been formed. A layer of zinc is deposited onto the steel surface through an electrolytic process.
The zinc coating is relatively thin and uniform, providing basic protection against oxidation and corrosion. Compared with hot-dip galvanizing, electro galvanizing generally has a lower production cost and can be suitable for applications with moderate corrosion-resistance requirements.
Hot-Dip Galvanized Mesh Sheet
Hot-Dip Galvanized Mesh Sheet is produced by immersing the formed mesh into molten zinc. The high-temperature galvanizing process creates a relatively thick zinc coating on the steel surface.
The thicker protective layer provides stronger corrosion resistance and makes hot-dip galvanized mesh more suitable for outdoor environments and applications exposed to moisture or changing weather conditions. Due to the additional galvanizing process and higher zinc coating, hot-dip galvanized products generally have a higher cost.
Key Features of Galvanized Mesh Sheet
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The zinc coating provides an additional protective layer over the steel wire, helping reduce direct exposure to moisture and oxygen. This helps prevent rust and corrosion and contributes to a longer service life.
The actual corrosion resistance of a Galvanized Mesh Sheet depends on factors such as galvanizing method, zinc coating, wire diameter, installation conditions, and the surrounding environment. Hot-dip galvanized mesh generally provides stronger protection in demanding outdoor conditions.
Firm and Stable Mesh Structure
Galvanized Mesh Sheet is manufactured using welding or other mesh-forming processes to create a stable grid structure. For welded versions, the wires are firmly connected at their intersections, helping maintain a flat and uniform mesh surface.
The rigid structure provides good overall integrity, tensile strength, and stiffness. It can withstand a certain degree of pressure and impact, making it suitable for reinforcement, fencing, protective barriers, animal enclosures, and industrial applications.
Easy Handling and Installation
The relatively lightweight structure of Galvanized Mesh Sheet makes it convenient to transport, handle, cut, and install.
The mesh can be cut into different sizes and joined with other mesh sheets or supporting structures according to project requirements. This flexibility allows it to adapt to different installation areas and construction conditions.
Galvanized Mesh Sheet Applications
Construction and Building Applications
Galvanized Mesh Sheet is widely used in construction for wall plastering, thermal insulation, and crack prevention. When properly installed, the mesh can help improve the overall crack resistance and stability of wall surfaces.
It can also be used as floor reinforcement mesh to improve load-bearing performance and structural stability. Other construction and infrastructure applications include bridge supports, concrete reinforcement, riverbed management, and slope protection.
Industrial Applications
In industrial environments, Galvanized Mesh Sheet can be used for equipment protection, safety barriers, partitions, and filtration systems.
In mining operations, suitable galvanized mesh products can be used as coal mine support mesh for roadway support in underground mining areas. Machinery and equipment manufacturers can also use mesh sheets to produce equipment guards and protective barriers.
The combination of a firm structure and galvanized surface makes the product suitable for industrial applications requiring both mechanical stability and corrosion protection.
Agriculture and Livestock Applications
Galvanized Mesh Sheet is commonly used for animal enclosures and agricultural protection. It can be fabricated into chicken house fencing, cattle pen barriers, rabbit cages, and other livestock or poultry enclosures.
The mesh can also be used for orchard protection, mushroom cultivation racks, greenhouse frames, and internal separation structures.
Different wire diameters and mesh openings can be selected according to the size of the animals, type of crop, required protection level, and installation conditions.
Fencing and Security Applications
Galvanized Mesh Sheet is also widely used for general fencing and separation purposes. Common applications include garden fences, property security fences, school fences, highway fences, and other protective barriers.
The open mesh structure provides physical separation while maintaining visibility and air circulation. Galvanized treatment also makes the product suitable for many outdoor fencing environments.
Galvanized Mesh Sheet Specifications
Galvanized Mesh Sheet is available in a variety of wire diameters, mesh openings, and widths to meet different application requirements.
Specification | Typical Range |
Wire Diameter | 1.6–8 mm |
Mesh Opening | 13–150 mm |
Mesh Width | 0.5–3 m |
Mesh Shape | Square, rectangular, and other customized configurations |

Wire Diameter
The typical wire diameter ranges from 1.6 mm to 8 mm. The appropriate wire diameter can be selected according to the required strength and application.Relatively thicker wire is commonly used for construction, reinforcement, industrial protection, and applications requiring higher rigidity. Thinner wire can be suitable for agricultural fencing, animal enclosures, garden fences, and other general applications.
Mesh Opening
The standard mesh opening generally ranges from 13 mm to 150 mm. Square and rectangular openings are commonly available.Smaller openings can provide more effective separation and containment, making them suitable for certain agricultural and livestock applications. Larger openings can provide better ventilation and visibility and are often used for fencing, reinforcement, and protective structures.

Mesh Width
Common Galvanized Mesh Sheet widths range from 0.5 m to 3 m. Customized widths can also be produced according to customer requirements. The sheet dimensions can be selected according to the installation area, supporting structure, transportation requirements, and project specifications.
