Gold on Matte Black Shows Up Best
The gold is not ink; it is a metal tone pressed onto the bag, and gold on matte black is the pair that stands out most. Facing it straight, the gold looks quiet; turn the bag in the light and it brightens for a moment. Small shapes hold up well: the scissors mark, the thin lines and the small letters all stay clear. It does not fade, and rubbing it with your hand does not take it off.
The Handle Is Black Grosgrain Ribbon
The handle is black grosgrain ribbon, and it is wide, so it does not cut into your fingers. The surface has fine ribs, line after line in even order, so it reads as finer than an ordinary webbing handle. The ribbon goes into the top of the bag and is fixed inside, so the front stays clean.
