About this product
Product information from the supplier.
Two distinct lines of high-purity Sulfuric Acid serve different technical audiences. Reagent Grade (AR and GR) exists for laboratory precision – titrations, digestions, and wet chemistry where consistent purity drives accurate results. Electronic Grade serves the semiconductor industry – wafer cleaning, metal etching, and component manufacturing where trace contamination kills yields.
Neither resembles commercial industrial acid. Bulk sulfuric acid lacks the certified purity documentation that labs and fabs demand. AR meets analytical reagent standards. GR offers tighter impurity control. Electronic Grade removes metals and particles to levels suitable for sensitive electronics work.
Typical specification: 95% – 98% H₂SO₄. Each grade ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.
Grades Available: AR | GR | Electronic Grade
Certified Purity, Fully Traceable – Every container includes a COA documenting actual metal content and impurity levels. You receive verified data – no assumptions.
Three Grades for Three Tiers of Work – AR for routine lab titrations and digestions. GR for stricter analytical requirements. Electronic Grade for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
Lab-Ready Packaging – Supplied in 500mL, 1L, 2.5L, 5L bottles, and 20L carboys. No need to handle heavy industrial drums.
Export Track Record – 13 years in chemical exports. Complete documentation supports your quality system and regulatory audits.
Wet Chemistry Analysis and Titrations – QC laboratories use reagent sulfuric acid for acid-base titrations, Kjeldahl nitrogen determination, and various colorimetric methods. The acid must deliver consistent strength without interfering impurities. Our AR grade provides the reliability that routine analytical work requires.
Sample Digestion for Metal Analysis – Organic samples – food products, biological tissues, and polymers – require acid digestion before metal analysis by ICP or AAS. Reagent sulfuric acid breaks down carbon matrices and solubilizes metals. For complete digestion of difficult samples, it often pairs with nitric acid. Our GR grade offers lower impurity backgrounds for trace metal work.
Electronics Component Cleaning – Electronic Grade Sulfuric Acid removes organic residues and metal contaminants from semiconductor wafers, electronic components, and circuit boards. The purity level ensures no residue remains that could affect device performance or subsequent processing steps.
Wafer Cleaning (Semiconductor Manufacturing) – In semiconductor fabs, electronic grade sulfuric acid is mixed with hydrogen peroxide (SPM cleaning solution) to remove organic residues from silicon wafers. The mixture oxidizes and dissolves photoresist and other contaminants. Acid purity directly affects cleaning effectiveness and wafer yields.
Metal Surface Preparation – Before coating or bonding, metal surfaces must be free of oxides and contaminants. Reagent sulfuric acid, often diluted and heated, removes scale and prepares surfaces for subsequent operations. This applies to metallurgical sample preparation and small-scale manufacturing.
Pharmaceutical Quality Control – QC labs test raw materials and finished drug products for impurities and metal content. Reagent sulfuric acid prepares samples for compendial tests (USP, EP) and instrumental analysis. Batch-specific documentation supports FDA and EMA inspections.
Nitric Acid (HNO₃), AR/GR Grade – Paired with sulfuric acid for mixed acid digestions; analytical labs often purchase both
Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), AR/GR Grade – Used alongside sulfuric acid for various wet chemistry applications
Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂), Electronic Grade – Combined with sulfuric acid for SPM cleaning solutions in semiconductor manufacturing
Note: Reagent and electronic grades differ fundamentally from industrial acid. Never substitute industrial grade in analytical or semiconductor work – contamination will compromise results.
Important – Strong Corrosive – Fume Hood Required
High-purity sulfuric acid is extremely corrosive and generates heat when mixed with water. Use in fume hoods. Add acid to water – never the reverse. Wear full PPE including face shield. Segregate from organics and reducing agents. Contact us for SDS.
