Product Overview

Sodium Hydroxide – commonly called Caustic Soda – reaches its highest purity levels in reagent and electronic grades. Reagent Grade (AR and GR) supports analytical chemistry where precise concentration determines titration accuracy. Electronic Grade serves semiconductor manufacturing where trace metals damage device yields.

Unlike industrial caustic soda shipped in bulk bags, these high-purity forms come with certified impurity documentation. AR meets analytical reagent standards with low carbonate content. GR offers tighter metal specifications. Electronic Grade removes trace metals to parts-per-billion levels for sensitive electronics applications.

Typical specification: Solid pellets minimum 98% NaOH. Standardized solutions available from 0.1N to 1.0N with certified concentration. Each grade ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Why Choose Our High-Purity Sodium Hydroxide

Certified Purity, Fully Traceable – Every container includes a COA documenting actual metal content and carbonate levels. You receive verified data for your quality records.

Three Grades for Different Applications – AR for routine titration and pH work. GR for stricter analytical requirements. Electronic Grade for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

Lab-Ready Formats – Supplied as solid pellets in 500g, 1kg bottles or as standardized solutions in 500mL, 1L, 2.5L, 5L bottles.

Export Track Record – 13 years in chemical exports. Complete documentation supports your quality system.

Solutions We Provide

Acid-Base Titration Standardization – Analytical laboratories use reagent sodium hydroxide as the standard base for acid concentration determinations. The solution must have precisely known concentration and low carbonate interference. Our standardized solutions arrive with certified normality – ready to use without additional preparation.

pH Adjustment in Laboratory Settings – Research and QC labs use reagent sodium hydroxide for precise pH adjustment of buffers, reaction mixtures, and growth media. The consistent strength allows reproducible results across different experiments.

Electronic Grade Cleaning (Semiconductor) – Electronic Grade Sodium Hydroxide removes organic residues and particle contamination from silicon wafers and electronic components. The high purity prevents metal introduction that could affect device performance. Used in certain cleaning baths where strong alkalinity is required without metallic contamination.

Carbonate Content Control – Reagent grade sodium hydroxide features low sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) content – essential for accurate titrations and for applications where carbonate interferes. Each COA reports actual carbonate levels.

Standardized Solution Preparation – Laboratories requiring sodium hydroxide solutions can order our certified standardized solutions instead of preparing from pellets. Concentrations from 0.1N to 1.0N available. Each bottle includes exact normality determined by volumetric analysis.

Pharmaceutical Quality Control – QC laboratories test raw materials using reagent sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment and titrations. Batch-specific documentation supports regulatory inspections.

Related Products & Important Notice

Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), AR/GR Grade – Acid-base pair for titrations; analytical labs always purchase both

Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), AR/GR Grade – Alternative strong base; some procedures specify KOH instead of NaOH

Phenolphthalein Indicator – Used alongside sodium hydroxide for endpoint detection in titrations

Note: Reagent and electronic grades differ from industrial caustic soda. Never substitute industrial grade in analytical or semiconductor work – carbonate content and metal impurities will be unacceptable.

Important – Strong Corrosive – Hygroscopic

High-purity sodium hydroxide absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from air. Keep containers tightly sealed. Dissolves exothermically in water – add pellets to water, never the reverse. Wear full PPE including face shield and alkali-resistant gloves. Contact us for SDS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

What is the difference between AR and GR?

GR (Guaranteed Reagent) has tighter impurity specifications than AR (Analytical Reagent).

What is electronic grade used for?

Semiconductor wafer cleaning, electronics component cleaning where trace metals cannot be tolerated.

Do you provide COA with each bottle?

Yes – each lot has a Certificate of Analysis.

What forms are available?

Solid pellets (500g, 1kg) or standardized solutions (0.1N to 1.0N).

How does it differ from industrial caustic soda?

Certified purity, low carbonate content, batch traceability, and lab-friendly packaging.

Do you offer samples?

Small bottle samples available for qualified labs.

Lead time?

10–15 days after order confirmation.
