About this product

Product information from the supplier.

Product Overview

Sodium Hydroxide – commonly known as Caustic Soda – stands as one of the most widely consumed industrial alkalis globally. Whereas acids donate protons, NaOH accepts them, which explains its role as the standard neutralization agent for acidic streams across mining, manufacturing, and environmental applications.

What makes this product distinct is its availability in three physical forms. Flake consists of thin disc-shaped particles that dissolve rapidly – ideal for batch processes. Pearl forms small spherical granules that generate minimal dust and flow freely – suited for automated handling systems. Liquid comes as a 32% or 50% concentrated solution ready to pump directly into continuous operations.

Major industrial uses include: mineral processing and ore flotation, pH adjustment and mine water neutralization, alumina extraction via the Bayer process, soap and detergent manufacturing, textile mercerizing, paper pulping, and flue gas desulfurization.

Our Sodium Hydroxide is manufactured under strict quality control. Solid forms are packaged with moisture-barrier liners to prevent caking. Liquid grades feature low sodium chloride and carbonate impurities.

Forms Available: Flake | Pearl | Liquid (32% / 50%)

Why Choose Our Sodium Hydroxide

Three Physical Forms from a Single Supplier – Flake dissolves quickly for batch operations. Pearl offers low dust and free-flowing properties for automated handling. Liquid pumps directly into continuous treatment systems. Tell us your equipment – we deliver the right form.

High Purity Across All Grades – Solid forms achieve 99% minimum purity. Liquid grades maintain low NaCl and Na₂CO₃ content – essential for mineral processing circuits and sensitive manufacturing. Food-grade options available with full certification.

Flexible Packaging to Match Your Volume – Flake and pearl come in 25kg woven bags with inner liners or bulk bags up to 1000kg. Liquid is supplied in 200L drums, 1000L IBCs, or ISO tanks. Every shipment follows IMDG Code with proper corrosive labeling and secure container loading.

Export Experience You Can Count On – Our team brings 13 years of hazardous chemical export experience. We have supplied major enterprises including CSCEC and CNPC. Complete documentation – COA, MSDS, packing list, commercial invoice – ensures smooth customs clearance.

Solutions We Provide

Mineral Processing & Ore Flotation

In sulfide and oxide ore beneficiation, Sodium Hydroxide adjusts flotation pulp pH and serves as a modifier. For copper, lead-zinc, and gold ores, proper pH control improves collector performance and gangue rejection. Liquid caustic delivers consistent alkalinity to flotation circuits, while solid forms serve as backup or for smaller operations.

pH Adjustment & Mine Water Neutralization

Acid mine drainage from active and closed mines requires neutralization before environmental discharge. Sodium Hydroxide raises pH efficiently – even in cold climates where lime dissolves slowly. Liquid caustic is the preferred choice for continuous treatment systems.

Alumina Extraction – The Bayer Process

In aluminum refining, bauxite ore is digested with hot caustic soda to dissolve aluminum hydroxide, leaving red mud as residue. The dissolved alumina is then precipitated and calcined to produce smelter-grade alumina. This single application consumes more Sodium Hydroxide than any other industrial process.

Soap & Detergent Manufacturing

Saponification reacts fats and oils with Sodium Hydroxide to produce soap and glycerin. Flake or pearl caustic suits bar soap production. Liquid caustic is preferred for liquid soaps and detergents. Consistent alkalinity ensures complete saponification and predictable final product quality.

Textile Mercerizing & Paper Pulping

Cotton fibers treated with concentrated Sodium Hydroxide swell, increasing tensile strength, improving dye affinity, and adding luster. In kraft pulping, Sodium Hydroxide (combined with sodium sulfide) dissolves lignin, separating cellulose fibers from wood chips.

Flue Gas Desulfurization

Power plants and industrial boilers inject Sodium Hydroxide into wet scrubbers to remove sulfur dioxide from exhaust gases. Liquid caustic at 32% or 50% concentration is preferred for continuous FGD systems due to ease of handling and precise dosing control.

Related Products & Important Notice

Sodium Sulfide (Na₂S) – Used alongside Sodium Hydroxide in kraft pulping and some mineral flotation circuits

Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) – Another alkaline product for less demanding pH adjustment applications

Polyacrylamide (PAM) – Often used after caustic soda for flocculation and solids settling in mineral processing and water treatment

Note: Sodium Hydroxide is chemically opposite to acids. Do not copurchase with strong acids for the same application unless you have separate storage and handling systems.

Important – Strong Corrosive – Segregation Required

Sodium Hydroxide reacts exothermically with acids and generates heat when dissolved in water. Under IMDG regulations, it must be segregated from acids, oxidizers, and organic peroxides. Solid forms are hygroscopic – store in dry conditions. Liquid caustic can freeze in cold weather – insulated or heated storage may be required. Contact us to plan your shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

What forms do you supply?

Flake (99%), pearl (99%), and liquid (32% or 50%).

What is the difference between flake and pearl?

Flake dissolves quickly – good for batch processes. Pearl is lowdust and freeflowing – ideal for automated handling.

How is it used in mineral processing?

For pH control and as a modifier in sulfide and oxide ore flotation circuits.

Do you supply food grade?

Yes – food-grade Sodium Hydroxide is available with certification.

How is liquid caustic shipped in winter?

Liquid freezes at approximately 12°C (50% solution) or 0°C (32% solution). Insulated containers or heated storage may be required.

Can it be shipped with other chemicals?

No – must be segregated from acids and oxidizers.

Do you offer samples?

Yes – sample orders available for process testing.

Lead time?

15–20 days after order confirmation, depending on quantity.
