About this product
Product information from the supplier.
Product Description
Wet dry sanding discs hook & loop are round abrasives with a flocked backing designed to attach securely to a hook-and-loop backup pad. Their core advantages are fast disc changes, stable attachment, and compatibility with electric/pneumatic tools for efficient sanding.
It can be quickly attached to backing pads for easy replacement. Suitable for both dry and wet sanding, delivering consistent fine scratch pattern. Waterproof base resists damage when soaked, ideal for fine sanding, paint correction and pre-polish preparation. Full grit range available, widely used in auto detailing, hardware, woodwork, plastic, fiberglass and stone processing.

1. Quick-change hook & loop system: the backing is made of flocked fabric that acts like the "loop" side of Velcro, firmly gripping the "hook" pad on the sander. This ensures secure positioning during use and allows for rapid, tool-free disc changes, significantly improving work efficiency.
2. Wet/dry capability: constructed with waterproof backing and silicon carbide abrasives, these discs are suitable for both dry and wet sanding. When used wet, water flushes away swarf (debris), prevents clogging, and produces a smoother, finer surface finish.
3. Backing materials and abrasive types: most discs feature either a paper backing or a foam backing. Paper-backed discs are ideal for flat surfaces and general-purpose sanding, while foam-backed discs offer greater flexibility and conformability, making them excellent for contoured or irregular surfaces. The primary abrasive material is silicon carbide, though some variants use aluminum oxide (white or brown fused alumina), which is better suited for dry sanding applications.
4. Wide range of sizes and grits: disc diameters range from 1 inch to 9 inches, with common sizes including 3-inch (75mm), 4-inch (100mm), and 5-inch (125mm). Grit availability covers a broad spectrum, from coarse grits like P60 for aggressive material removal to ultra-fine grits up to P10000 for high-gloss polishing.
1.Sanding old automotive paint layers: removing original or repaired paint finishes to prepare the surface for new paint application.
2.Eliminating orange peel texture on car paint: leveling the uneven, orange-peel-like texture on clear coat surfaces to achieve a mirror-like gloss finish.
3.Sanding body filler (putty/bodywork compound): smoothing out the filler applied to dented areas of vehicle bodies to create a seamless transition with the surrounding metal panels.
4.Removing rust from metal surfaces: cleaning off surface rust and oxidation layers from steel, aluminum alloys, and other metal workpieces.
5.Deburring metal edges: removing sharp burrs left on metal edges after cutting or drilling to prevent injury.
6.Sanding raw wood furniture (white wood): smoothing out wood splinters and rough saw marks before applying finish coatings.
7.Sanding wood coating layers: leveling primer or topcoat layers between applications to improve adhesion for subsequent coats.
8.Wet sanding stone surfaces: grinding marble, granite, or other natural stones with water to restore worn areas and enhance surface shine.
9.Grinding glass edges: smoothing sharp edges of cut glass to make them safe to handle.
10.Fine polishing jade and jewelry: using high-grit sanding discs with small rotary tools to delicately polish curved surfaces of jade, crystals, and gemstones.
11.Smoothing plastic part mold lines (flash): removing parting lines or excess flash left on plastic products (e.g., electronic housings) from the injection molding process.
12.Blending paint edges in color matching: sanding the transition area between old and new paint layers during spot repairs on vehicles to achieve a seamless color blend.
