PNC-27 is an experimental anti-cancer peptide constructed by attaching the HDM-2-binding domain of the p53 protein to a membrane-penetrating sequence. It selectively targets and binds to HDM-2 proteins on the surfaces of tumor cells, causing cell membrane destruction and necrosis, without harming normal, healthy cells.
