Material & Weaving Foundation
Composition: 100% Polyester warp-knitted pile-cut Italian velvet grey fabric. Compact and solid fabric base; original Italian velvet has relatively long pile with inherent brilliant lustre.
Core burn-out process: Chemical burn-out (burnout finishing). Chemical agent locally dissolves partial pile fibres while base fabric remains intact, forming embossed dim-patterns with raised-pile and recessed-hollow zones. Reference sample features classic check & fret geometric motifs. Patterns share identical base colour with fabric; embossed relief effect is generated by pile-thickness difference, not from printing or physical embossing. Customisable patterns: check, fret-work, floral scrolls, abstract lines and more.
Regular weight: 240-330GSM, custom weight available. Common widths:150cm, 280cm extra-wide width. Extra-wide width suits curtains and full-panel sofa upholstery to minimise seam joints.
Physical Performance
Good abrasion-scratch resistance. Furniture-grade version achieves high Martindale abrasion rating for high-frequency furniture-upholstery use. Burn-out process only etches surface pile fibres while base fabric stays intact; good anti-pilling & anti-linting performance under normal usage.
Acceptable wrinkle-recovery; folded creases recover better than plain solid Italian velvet. Hanging storage is recommended for large finished upholstery products.
Low shrinkage rate with factory pre-shrinking finishing, ensuring good dimensional stability after washing.
Burn-out hollow-out zones improve air permeability; better breathability than full-pile Italian velvet, suitable for all-season use.
Good indoor light fastness; resists yellowing and discoloration for long-term indoor application. Not suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure.
Processing Compatibility
Good cutting & sewing performance; resistant to edge-rolling and fraying, user-friendly for sewing operations.
Compatible with secondary processes including printing, embossing, glue-pressing, hot-stamping and lamination.
Available with authoritative eco-certifications including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and OEKO-TEX Step to satisfy diversified customer requirements.
