Fibronectin CS-1 Peptide CAS NO.136466-51-8

<p>Fibronectin CS-1 Peptide (CAS 136466-51-8) is a high-purity synthetic octapeptide corresponding to the cell adhesion domain located in the type III homology connecting segment (IIICS) of human fibronectin. This cGMP-manufactured peptide, with the sequence Glu-Ile-Leu-Asp-Val-Pro-Ser-Thr (EILDVPST), specifically targets α4β1 integrin receptors (VLA-4) on leukocytes and other cell types. It serves as a critical res…

1.MECHANISM OF ACTION

Fibronectin CS-1 Peptide exerts its biological effects through high-affinity binding to the α4β1 integrin receptor (VLA-4) expressed on leukocytes, endothelial cells, and certain tumor cells. The peptide's LDV (Leu-Asp-Val) motif serves as the core recognition sequence that mimics the natural binding site in fibronectin. Upon binding to α4β1 integrin, it triggers intracellular signaling cascades that can either promote or inhibit cell adhesion, migration, and activation, depending on the cellular context.

2.PRODUCT INDICATIONS

Cell Adhesion Studies: As a specific ligand or competitive inhibitor in assays investigating α4β1 integrin-mediated cell adhesion and migration.
Inflammation Research: To study leukocyte trafficking, endothelial cell interactions, and inflammatory responses in experimental models.
Cancer Metastasis Research: As a tool to investigate the role of integrin-mediated adhesion in tumor cell invasion and metastasis.
Biomaterial Functionalization: For coating surfaces to promote or modulate specific cell adhesion in tissue engineering applications.
Drug Discovery: As a lead compound or screening tool for developing novel anti-inflammatory or anti-metastatic agents targeting α4β1 integrin.

3.CLINICAL EFFICACY OF PRODUCT

As a research reagent, Fibronectin CS-1 Peptide itself is not approved for clinical use. Its "efficacy" is demonstrated in preclinical research settings. Studies show that this peptide can effectively inhibit α4β1 integrin-mediated cell adhesion in vitro with IC50 values in the micromolar range. In animal models of inflammation, administration of CS-1 peptide has been shown to reduce leukocyte infiltration and tissue damage. In experimental metastasis models, the peptide has demonstrated the ability to inhibit tumor cell adhesion to endothelial cells and reduce metastatic colonization. However, these effects are context-dependent and require further validation.
